Enabling clinicians and care teams to perform, record and review pain assessments directly within the medication administration workflow, the integration helps improve clinical decision-making and resident outcomes.
A More Connected Approach to Pain Management
For residents who are unable to communicate their pain verbally, it can be challenging to determine whether a PRN pain medication has delivered the desired outcome. The new BESTMED and PainChek integration helps address this challenge by connecting objective pain assessments with medication administration records.
Care staff can now launch a PainChek assessment directly from eligible PRN pain medications within BESTMED Dose Rounds. Once completed, the PainChek score can be linked to both pre-administration and post-administration medication records, providing a clear view of pain levels before and after treatment.

For homes with the integration enabled, eligible PRN analgesic medications can be linked directly to PainChek assessments, creating a seamless workflow from assessment to administration to outcome review.
