BESTMED announces next phase of software integration
BESTMED is proud to announce a major milestone in advancing digital health connectivity across Australia. Now fully conformant for electronic prescribing enabled National Residential Medication Charts (eNRMC), the BESTMED system provides safer, more efficient medication management for aged care residents.

BESTMED prescriptions will be uploaded to the National Prescription Delivery Service (NPDS) and enable medication charts to be reviewed every six months. The new service is available nationally from 1 October and the BESTMED onboarding team is supporting our customers with a seamless migration.
In addition to eNRMC conformance, BESTMED now supports the uploading of Aged Care Transfer Summaries to MyHealth Record. This new capability ensures that critical health information travels seamlessly with residents as they move between health services – such as hospital transfers – enhancing continuity of care and reducing the risk of errors during transitions.
The ability to integrate BESTMED across the health care silos will only increase with the launch of BESTMED’s announced integration with the Best Practice GP software, which is used by over 65% of GP practices nationwide. This first-to-market initiative will save doctors time copying and pasting information back to their practice management system and enable exclusive access to BESTMED from their Best Practice software.
“Connecting care software is a vital foundation for creating a safer medication system for elderly residents and maximising the return on IT investment,” said Phil Offer, BESTMED CEO. “I’m delighted to announce BESTMED is now fully conformant with the new ePrescribing National Residential Medication Chart software and integrates with all but two residential care systems.”
Phil Offer, CEO of BESTMED, added:
“Reaching this milestone has taken more than a village. It’s taken hundreds of people working together over many years from the Department of Health, Australian Digital Health Agency, other software companies and the Medical Software Industry Association to improve safety through interoperability. BESTMED is proud to be an active participant and stands ready to work on version 4”.
